Packing

The Tramline Quad 190cm & 170cm are each designed to fit two pairs of skis or one pair of skis and one snowboard - plus one pair of boots. In addition to your hard goods, the Tramline Quad's custom packing solution allows you to fit a variety of soft goods, including jackets, pants, base layers and a helmet.

Each airline has its own specific policies for oversized luggage, but nearly all of them accept ski & snowboard bags. Many actually treat them like standard checked bags. You're often restricted to 50lbs before being charged, but this rule will vary depending on the airline, segment, and even your status with that airline. We suggest confirming how your airline's policy may affect your trip on their website - to make this easier we've provided links to the oversized baggage rules for most domestic carriers on our Travel Guide page.

Yes, the major restriction being length. We recommend selecting the case that best adapts to your ski or snowboard size. The Quad 190 can hold skis up to 190cm long, and the Quad 170 holds skis and snowboards up to 170cm long.

Travel

The Quad is designed to maneuver however you want it to! Our four oversized wheels allow you to glide through airports, parking lots, or hotel lobbies with ease, and you can adjust the angle based on the terrain. Zig zagging through the airport check-in line? Roll it upright to make those tight turns. Trying to catch a bus or train at the other end of the airport? Grab the soft-grip top handle and drag the case behind you for faster travel. However you're moving, The Quad is ready.

Most rental car services operating in or near mountain towns offer an option to rent a ski rack for a daily fee. If you have your own gear, you'll probably want to select this option no matter what kind of ski bag you have - the downside of this being you usually need to pull your skis out of the bag, attach them to the roof, then jam the bag into the trunk.

To make this easier, we have equipped the top of The Quad with two thermoformed (extra strong) handles that can act as passthroughs and allow you to strap the entire case to the top of a car.

Yes, the case comes with an integrated TSA-approved lock to secure your equipment during travel.

1. Make sure it’s currently set to the correct combination and open the lock.

2. Locate the reset button next to the dial on your lock. Use a pen or a small tool to press and hold the reset button.

3. While holding the reset button, turn the dials to your desired combination. Release the reset button to set the new combination. The reset button will stay down until you push the locking mechanism the same way you would to unlock the case, setting your new combination.

4. Test the new combination by closing the lock and scrambling the dials. Re-enter the new combination to make sure it works correctly.

The Quad is water-resistant. The ABS plastic shell is designed to protect your gear from rain and snow during transport, but please keep in mind that extended exposure to the elements can eventually lead to moisture penetrating through the zipper track.
